Tilly graduated with first-class honours in Bachelor of Science Physiotherapy from the University of the West of England (Bristol, UK) in 2021. Tilly has since worked in NHS acute hospitals in Bristol, on trauma wards, intensive care and surgical wards, most recently Tilly has been part of a specialist community neurological service, providing rehabilitation for patients in their home with both acute and long term neurological conditions. Tilly’s area of special interest includes stroke rehabilitation and has experience with trialing robotics, functional electrical stimulation, mirror therapy and technology based rehab to support the best outcome for individuals following a stroke.
Tilly’s approach to the management of neurological conditions is an combination of evidence-base and personal experience however, clients’ goals, expectations of treatment and personal wishes are the most important factor for Tilly when developing individualised, holistic and creative management plans. Tilly’s goal with all her clients is for them to leave the session with a positive and motivated mindset, having felt understood and heard, this supports clients’ self-management and engagement in rehabilitation. Aiding individuals to engage in their preferred activities, hobbies and interests is one area Tilly will focus on when working with clients, Tilly believes support and encouragement to take part in things our clients enjoy doing outside of physiotherapy-based rehabilitation is essential for a happy, healthy and balanced lifestyle, and an important part of her role as your physiotherapist.
About me.
I grew up in a tiny village in the Peak District (UK) but love travelling the world and have therefore made the move to Melbourne with my partner to experience Australian life. Melbourne was very highly recommended amongst my friends and family who have visited or lived in Australia as being a dynamic city with a vibrant music and food culture. Outside of work, I enjoy playing netball, running and most things sport, however I am yet to get my head around the AFL rules. I welcome any lessons on this… as well recommendations for activities, restaurants or coffee spots in the city!
