Katie has completed a Bachelors of Biomedicine (University of Melbourne) and a Doctor of Physiotherapy (Bond University) degree. Katie has gained experience working in Queensland and Victoria, in both hospital acute or rehabilitation, and community settings. She has developed a keen interest in Neurological Physiotherapy early in her career and has been focusing on this specialty since graduation. Katie has experience with a diverse range of conditions and patient populations, with a specific interest in Acquired Brain Injuries and Vestibular rehabilitation.
Katie is passionate about collaborating with clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams to achieve salient goals, promote independence, and enhance quality of life. She thoroughly enjoys collaborative goal setting as she finds this promotes motivation and effectiveness in therapy. She takes an empathetic approach and strives to assist patients to achieve their functional goals in a relaxed but fun and engaging manner.
Katie has completed multiple APA Neurology Competency courses and is committed to continuous professional development. Due to her early directed path in Neurological Physiotherapy, she was mentored by numerous reputable members during her career. She is also an APA Neurology Group Member.
In her spare time, Katie enjoys staying active and enjoying the outdoors such as going to the gym, playing social Volleyball and going camping.
