Darcy Taig

Neurological Physiotherapist

rowa

Darcy graduated from The George Washington University (DC, USA) with his Doctor in Physical Therapy. Prior to this he completed a Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sport Science. Darcy gained exposure to neurological  rehabilitation during his time at the George Washington University Hospital, and is keen to build on his knowledge and clinical skills.

Darcy was an elite level volleyballer growing up and the sport took him to the USA initially for college to compete in the NCAA Division 1, winning two National championships. It was there, immersed in state of the art strength training his interest in the body was solidified, which eventually lead him to physiotherapy. Darcy is devoted to being an evidence-led practitioner, listening to each patient’s story and tailoring their treatment to their individual circumstances and goals.

Darcy believes strongly in the power of active interventions to empower patients, and help them regain or maintain confidence in their bodies. Darcy is a ASCA Level 1 Strength and conditioning Coach which allows him a more detailed understanding of the prescription of exercise and physical activity to patients.

Outside of work, Darcy is currently competing in the Victorian Volleyball league, enjoys strength training in his home gym, and loves going on adventures with his wife and dog Tucker.
