She has developed interest in neurological physiotherapy early into her career and has been actively working in specialising in this area since graduation. She has experience in a wide variety of neurological conditions, including working as a senior physiotherapist in the statewide spinal cord injury, acquired brain injury and movement disorder services at Alfred Health and Monash Health.
Yii is very passionate about working collaboratively with her clients, families and multidisciplinary team to achieve their goals, promote independence and optimise their quality of life, particularly in the acquired brain injury population. Having worked in the ABI Unit at Caulfield Hospital, she also has particular expertise in the management of disorders of consciousness and severe traumatic brain injuries.
Yii has completed her Basic Bobath and an Advanced Bobath Course recently and is always seeking opportunities for further development. She has also completed numerous postgraduate courses in high level gait and running retraining, sensory rehabilitation post stroke, clinical gait analysis, vestibular rehabilitation, complex seating, spasticity management and serial casting. Yii is also an APA titled Neurological Physiotherapist, having completed her clinical masters in neurological physiotherapy with Flinders University in 2019. Yii is also very passionate about translating neurosciences and current evidence into clinical practice, with her clinical project in her masters looking at the specificity of exercise prescription by physiotherapists in neurological rehabilitation. She also enjoys teaching and mentoring junior therapists to help them grow professionally and achieve clinical excellence.
In Yii’s spare time, she enjoys exploring new places with her family and friends as well as being out and about in the nature hiking or camping.
