Shona has a Doctor of Physiotherapy from the University of Melbourne, with experience working in various settings including neurological paediatrics. Shona’s interest in neurological conditions stems from first-hand experience with a family member’s cerebral palsy and intellectual disability, and has been deepened through experience in neuro paediatrics, seeing the effect physiotherapy can have on daily function and quality of life.
Shona is working to bridge the gap between paediatric and adult neurological care, through spearheading the Transition Program at Klint Neuro.
Shona has completed additional professional development in multiple areas including Vestibular rehabilitation, Functional Neurological Disorder management and the Bobath Concept, a problem-based clinical approach to treating neurological conditions. Shona combines this with her experience in neurological physiotherapy to optimise functional outcomes and neurological recovery.
Shona is passionate about improving quality of life and independence for persons with disabilities, and understands the importance of mental, social and emotional wellbeing in assisting each client to achieve their individual goals.
In her spare time, Shona enjoys strength training at the gym, exploring new foods and cuisines with friends, and spending time with her family.
