She has a broad range of rehabilitation experience in both public and private settings, supporting people from diverse backgrounds and with diverse conditions. Her particular love is stroke rehabilitation, using her Bobath concept training to achieve great outcomes with her patients.
She spent two years in Germany, first working in a rehabilitation hospital and then teaching neurological and geriatric physiotherapy in a private physiotherapy school. This was quite an experience when Covid hit and teaching was online in German!
Sarah has completed professional development in a broad range of areas including gait analysis, Pilates for runners, chronic pain, Parkinsons Disease, ataxia and upper limb rehabilitation. She has been published for research into the feasibility of moderate intensity cardiovascular fitness training following stroke. She is a current National Classifier for Wheelchair Rugby as well as volunteering for various roles with the Victoria Wheelchair Rugby Team.
Sarah is passionate about ‘life after rehabilitation’, enjoying getting out of the clinical setting and into more exciting endeavours like going camping, learning to surf or playing sports. Outside of work you will likely find her playing beach volleyball, surfing or spending time with her young family.
